As part of our consultancy led service we provide a full design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and certification service for solar PV. We provide competitive, specification-compliant tender quotations for commercial solar projects and will endeavour to identify value engineering opportunities to ensure project viability and contractor profitability.

Having worked with a wide range of clients in the building services sector for two decades, our expert teams have a wealth of experience working on construction sites to deliver turn-key solar installations with minimal disruption to main contractors and M&E contractors. Our site and project management teams are all in-house, all with the CSCS accreditation relevant to their role and as part of our ongoing commitment to the highest health & safety standards, we are proud to announce our CHAS accreditation has been upgraded to CHAS Premium Plus.

We are familiar with large construction site working and the associated risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) requirements. We are also experienced working under JCT and NEC contracts and accept self-billing payment terms.

We use industry leading software to accurately match energy generation and carbon reduction targets, identify the best suited products to meet tender specifications within budget and can offer advice to improve design and functionality, such as adding module optimisers to overcome shading.

Are all Solarsense operatives qualified and do they carry CSCS cards as standard?

Our installation team all hold the relevant CSCS and site safety cards.

Is Solarsense accredited for health & safety?

Solarsense has demonstrated compliance with the CHAS standards in line with SSIP Core Criteria and UK H&S Legislation and has been awarded accreditation to the requirements of the CDM Regulations 2015. In addition to health and safety accreditation, Solarsense has also demonstrated full compliance with the following 6 modules of PAS 91: Financial & Business Standing, Environmental Impact & Sustainability, Quality Management, Equal Opportunities & Diversity, Anti-Bribery & Corruption & Modern Slavery.

Will I need to apply for planning permission when installing solar panels?

Generally speaking, planning permission will not be required to install a roof-mounted solar PV system up to 50kWp in size. Planning is only required if the building is listed or if it is in located in a National Park. In the case of AONBs (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) the planning laws with regards to solar panels have relaxed considerably in recent years, however, it is always best to check with the relevant local authority. For larger or ground-mounted systems, planning permissions may need to be obtained. The application process can take up to 56 days to approve. Our helpful in-house team will take care of this for you.
