Self Financing (CapEx)
Self financing via CapEx is the most popular option for purchasing commercial solar panels. This option offers the best financial returns over the lifetime of a renewable energy system and will reduce your payback period considerably. By choosing a CapEx model, you own a durable energy generating asset that supports your climate goals while delivering strong financial returns.
Renewable Energy Asset Finance
Asset finance is the third most common form of business funding after overdrafts and loans. It is often used to acquire tangible assets from coffee machines to manufacturing equipment and solar panels. It can offer significant cash flow and tax advantages, helping businesses invest without tying up capital. SolarSense works with a network of long-standing finance partners to provide asset finance solutions that make commercial sense. In some cases, your repayments could be lower than your electricity savings, allowing your business to be cash positive from day one.
Solar as a Service
Clean Energy. No Upfront Cost. Immediate Savings.
For many organisations, the biggest obstacle to solar and clean energy adoption is the initial investment. Our Solar as a Service model removes that barrier, turning capital expenditure into manageable monthly cost – helping you reduce emissions, lower energy bills, and achieve ESG goals with no upfront cost.
No Capital Expenditure Required – Install a clean energy system with zero upfront cost. Shift to a simple and predictable monthly operating expense.
Immediate Savings – Clients typically start saving from day one without spending a penny on installation.
Fully Managed System – We provide an end-to-end service including system monitoring and servicing.
Predictable Monthly Costs – Lock in stable pricing, protect against energy market volatility, and simplify long-term budget planning.
Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)
A power purchase agreement (PPA) has become one of the most popular ways of financing commercial solar panels. If your energy usage and roof space meet specific criteria, this solution allows you to benefit from a free solar PV installation, financed by a PPA provider. You make big savings on energy bills without taking on ownership and maintenance. Solar equipment is owned by the PPA provider who then sells electricity to you at an agreed rate (p/kWh) throughout the agreement. This is typically at a much lower rate than you would pay from grid and will provide your business with all the benefits of solar PV.
How a power purchase agreement works
Scope your solar system – Find a solar system to best suit your organisation’s energy-usage patterns and needs.
Solar installed – without any outlay – PPA provider installs solar panels on your roof at no cost to you.
Pay for electricity at a lower rate – Buy the power generated by the solar panels at an agreed low rate throughout the agreement.
Everything taken care of – PPA provider owns, maintains and upgrades the system for the life of the agreement.
