The solar tiles have been launched in the US with Elon Musk amongst the first customers. He has confirmed that the new solar roof tiles will ship to the UK as early as 2018.

Although there has been a rumoured delay in Tesla launching their integrated solar roof tiles in the UK, Musk remains confident that the technology will be accessible to UK customers in 2018.

The product is designed to resemble a normal roof, but contain solar panels hidden among regular tiles – an alternative, more aesthetic option in comparison to traditional solar panels.
