Solarsense place in the top 3% of UK B Corps following certification

Solarsense gain B Corp accreditation

Solarsense has secured B Corp status, joining a global community of companies using business as a force for good.

Solarsense was established nearly 30 years ago with a mission to support a clean energy future and is now proudly part of a global community of businesses that meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

Growing from a start-up ahead of its time, to today’s successful award-winning Employee-Owned Trust, the leading clean energy company has completed more than 20,000 renewable energy installations, and played a pivotal role in the deployment of renewable energy technologies across the UK. However, the company’s recent B Corp certification is much more than its positive impact on the environment. Certified B Corporations or B Corps are businesses that prioritise people and the planet alongside profit and make a legal commitment to that duty of care in the future.

The assessment process of B Corporations like Solarsense is rigorous and looks at a business’s entire social and environmental performance. It drills into the company’s vision and values via its governance and assesses the way it treats, trains and supports its staff. It examines its impact on the economic and social wellbeing of communities where it works and the service it offers and the value it adds to its customers’ lives. Solarsense secured an overall impact score of 131/200 against the average 50.9, placing the company in the top 3% of all UK B Corps.

“We have been ambitious to join this community of companies, and are absolutely delighted to be given B Corp status. It matters because it’s not just an environmentally friendly stamp on a brand but looks for companies with real and comparable impact standards for robust leadership and transparent governance. That means companies who commit to living up to the highest standards, and to constant improvement. That aligns with our own vision for the company, our motives for becoming an Employee-Owned Trust, our charitable work and ongoing development and design of renewables. B Lab want to see every business as a force for good and the stronger that community of B Corp companies the more they hope it will inspire others and shape the way businesses operate across the UK and around the world. We are really proud to be a part of this movement.”
