Solarsense has been awarded a contract by The RSPB to install a number of solar carports throughout the UK as part of the charity’s national renewable energy program.
The contract was awarded following a previous successful project that saw Solarsense install seven solar PV systems for the charity in 2016.
The previous solar PV arrays are situated at a number of their nature reserve centres throughout the UK. Stretching from Devon to Northern England, the combined systems generate more than 87,000kW hours of clean, renewable energy whilst reducing the organisations carbon emissions by 48,000kg per year.
The impending solar carports will increase their on-site energy generation whilst clearly demonstrating their commitment to sustainability.

What is a solar carport?
A solar carport is a dual purpose, stand-alone structure that provides shelter for vehicles, whilst generating clean, renewable energy from the sun. This free electricity can then either be used on-site and (or) used to charge a fleet of electric vehicles.
