Online Event: Green Homes Grant and Making Energy Improvements

CLEAN ENERGY EVENTS

Green Homes Grant and Making Energy Improvements

With Stephen Barrett (Solarsense), Simon Duffen (Solarsense) and Mark Boulton (Homeowner).

The Green Homes Grant has been extended until March 2022. If you’re a homeowner or landlord, you can apply for a voucher towards the cost of installing a heat pump or solar thermal system for your home.

The Green Homes Grant offers two-thirds of the cost of eligible energy improvements, up to a maximum government contribution of £5,000. However, if you, or someone in your household, receive certain benefits this may increase to £10,000. For more information, please see the Government guidance.

Event Summary

Climate change is the defining crisis of our time. Rising temperatures are fuelling extreme weather patterns, natural disasters, food and water insecurity, environmental degradation, and economic disruption. Whilst the science tells us that climate change is irrefutable, it also suggests there is still time to limit the damage, however, we need urgent and transformative action in response to this complex, critical global challenge.

The UK Government has therefore set out a road map to reduce carbon emissions over the next decade. Part of this strategy is to encourage homeowners to switch away from powering their homes with fossil fuels to generating their own clean energy.

This online event will cover a range of topics including how to apply for the grant, what it covers and how it works. You will learn about clean energy, how the technologies can be integrated together and the associated benefits of doing so. There will also be a brief Q&A session for you to ask questions and share your experiences.
