Half price solar thermal – one week left for Bristol home-owners!

Let’s Go Solar – the Bristol-based community energy programme of which Solarsense are a partner – has just one week left to run. Under the programme successful applicants will benefit from a 25% discount on the cost of a solar thermal system and can claim the Renewable Heat Premium Payment Community Grant of £1,280 – a total saving of around 50%. Then, in 2014 system owners will also be able to claim the Renewable Heat Incentive, providing an income for seven years.

To apply, you should:

  • own and be living in the home where you want the system installed
  • have a minimum of 250mm of loft insulation and cavity wall insulation (if applicable) – funding to help with the cost of insulation is available from the Centre for Sustainable Energy, call 0800 082 2234
  • ideally (but not exclusively) be living in an area ranked low on the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD). Such areas include St Agnes, St Pauls, Lockleaze, Eastville, Ashley Down, St Werburghs, Knowle, Hartcliffe, Fishponds etc.

Installing a solar thermal system will reduce your bills and help protect the environment. Installing as part of the Let’s Go Solar scheme will help you access the technology for a greatly reduced price and then provide on-going income through government incentives.

If you are new to green energy or are looking to upgrade an older solar thermal system this is an opportunity not to be missed.
