Economic Resilience Fund Business Development Grant (Wales)

CLEAN ENERGY FINANCE AND GRANTS

Economic Resilience Fund Business Development Grant (Wales)

The Economic Resilience Fund Business Development Grant is intended to support businesses in Wales with development projects to assist with recovery from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and future sustainability.

The grant fund will be open for applications from the week commencing 26 October 2020 and remain open for four weeks or until funds are fully committed. The funding is to cover the period from October 2020 to 31st March 2021.

The business development grants will be open to businesses of all sizes in Wales, including micro businesses, SMEs and large corporations; on the condition they match this with their own investment of at least 10%. The amount your business can apply for is dependent on its size and industry type, with discretion for grant awards of up to 100% for Tourism and Hospitality businesses.

What can the grant be used for?

The Economic Resilience Fund can be used towards projects that address one or more of the calls to action in the Welsh Government’s Economic Action Plan, including the reduction of carbon emissions. Your business could therefore use the business development grant to help purchase a commercial solar panel system.

Solar panels offer a means to significantly reducing your organisations’ carbon footprint, whilst considerably improving your bottom line. A typical large-scale PV system will provide free electricity for more than 25 years and achieve returns of more than 12% per annum.
