Solarsense named amongst finalists for the 16th annual Green Energy Awards

Awards

Solarsense has been listed amongst the industry leaders highlighted in this year’s Green Energy Awards.

A recent national renewable energy project completed for The RSPB was short-listed for Clean Energy Scheme of the Year at the Regen Green Energy Awards 2019.

The green energy systems installed for the charity stretch from the South West to the North of England and to date consist of traditional on-roof solar PV, ground-mounted solar panels and solar carports. The winners will be announced later this month at the annual awards dinner in Bath. The combined installations will generate more than 300,000kWh of clean, renewable energy per year and as well as providing up to 80% of the sites’ annual energy requirements will displace more than 129,958kg of carbon emissions per annum.

The awards are a leading national celebration of the innovative technologies, pioneering companies and inspiring individuals shaking up the energy system.

More than 120 entries were submitted this year by companies and individuals across the UK for consideration in the five categories. This year’s awards recognise achievements in local energy organisations, leading innovative companies, inspiring community energy organisations as well as the pioneering individuals, spearheading the transition to a more sustainable future.

Merlin Hyman, chief executive, Regen, said: “We were excited to see so many strong nominations for the awards from inspiring people, great companies and pioneering projects at the forefront of the transformation to a zero-carbon energy system. The awards dinner is set to be an uplifting celebration of the extraordinary achievements of the sustainable energy sector.”

The judging panel comprises of:

  • Lord Robin Teverson, member of the House of Lords
  • Afsheen Kabir Rashid, founding director, Repowering London
  • Adriana Laguna, senior innovation strategy manager, UK Power Networks
  • Philip Graham, chief executive, National Infrastructure Commission
  • Phil Bazin, environment team lead, Triodos Bank.
