Project details

Industry leading solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, energy storage and heat pump technologies have been combined alongside an existing solar thermal system to create a low carbon house that provides the homeowner with more control over their energy consumption.

The solar PV system generates clean, renewable electricity which is either used to power the appliances within the home or stored in the Tesla Powerwall home battery for later use.

The building is heated naturally by the 18kW Heliotherm air heat pump on the exterior of the building, this negates the need for burning fossil fuels such as oil or gas and is powered by the free electricity generated by the solar panels, saving the client even more on their energy bills.

Technologies installed

  • 24 x SunPower 335W solar PV modules
  • 13.5kWp Tesla Powerwall 2
  • 18kW Heliotherm air source heat pump
  • 30 x Kingspan solar thermal evacuated tubes
