New large-scale battery storage grant for farmers

Great news for farmers with solar PV – improve your current system at a low cost and dramatically increase your savings.

The Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) Countryside Productivity Scheme has issued a grant opportunity for farmers (including livestock, dairy, arable and horticultural sectors) to gain funding towards increasing the use of renewable energy produced on farm by improving energy storage and distribution.

This large-scale grant is for a minimum of £35,000 and can cover up to 40% of the eligible costs of a project – meaning the minimum total eligible cost of a project must be £87,500. It is also limited to energy storage and distribution, therefore cannot be used towards renewable energy generation.

There are also more, smaller-scale government grants available through the LEADER scheme.
