Solarsense complete all electric, model ‘home of the future’

This all electric, model home of the future combines various low carbon and energy saving technologies to deliver a lower cost, eco-friendly lifestyle for homeowners.

Fully integrated solar, energy storage and heat pump technologies have been combined to create a low carbon house that provides homeowners with more control over their energy consumption. The combination of technologies in this Passivhaus design has led to an exceptional EPC score of 105 (A rating = 95+).

The solar roof is comprised of a 7kWp GB-Sol Roof Integrated System (RIS), that provides a flush installation to the surrounding tiles – improving aesthetics and offsetting the cost of a standard roof covering.

Tesla Powerwall 2 home battery has been integrated with the solar array to improve self-consumption and increase energy independence. Powerwall is a home battery that stores solar energy, so you can use it day or night and self-power your home. As well as powering your home with clean, sustainable energy 24/7, the intelligent battery can charge during low rate periods when demand for electricity is lower and discharge during more expensive periods when electricity demand is higher, saving you more on your bills. Through the Tesla mobile app, you can gain full visibility and control over your self-powered home.

An Ecodan Monobloc 4kW Air Source Heat Pump has been combined with a 200I HW storage cylinder to provide heating to the building. The 4kW Ecodan QUHZ is the latest Mitsubishi heat pump and smallest on the market – this is an ideal solution for new build properties where strict building regulations drive down the space heating demand, making the production of hot water the dominant load.

System Details

  • Fully integrated 7kWp GB-Sol Roof Integrated System (RIS)
  • 13.5kWh Tesla Powerwall 2
  • 4kW Mitsubishi Ecodan Monobloc Air Source Heat Pump
  • MVRH (mechanical ventilation with heat recovery system)
