Bristol Beer Factory go green
As part of their brewery expansion, Solarsense has converted all the lighting at the Bristol Beer Factory to energy efficient LEDs.
By converting all the lighting in the brewery, warehouse and packaging area to energy saving LED lighting, the Bristol Beer Factory has managed to increase their green credentials whilst saving thousands of pounds on their electricity bills each year.
“While it's hard for a brewery to be totally green, we wanted to try to do what we can to be as environmentally conscious as possible. As part of our brewery expansion we got in touch with the guys at Solarsense to ask them what we could do about our lighting. The results were clear, apart from its greener credentials, the savings in cost alone made switching to LEDs a no-brainer!” Simon Bartlett, Managing Director – Bristol Beer Factory.
The entire lighting system is now more efficient, tolerant to changes in temperature and emits less heat in what has been described as a hot and sweaty environment. The LEDs are more robust, will last much longer and require less maintenance; all equating to a colossal long-term saving to the business.
As well as saving the Bristol Beer Factory approximately £24,000 over 10 years, the LEDs also contribute to their commitment to sustainable manufacturing. In comparison to the lighting system being replaced, the LEDs contain no hazardous solids, liquids or gases which undoubtedly will be harmful to the environment at some point in their lifespan.
The Bristol Beer Factory are proud of their commitment to sustainable production and always looking at ways to improve their manufacturing process. They also use a diesel/electric hybrid truck to deliver their award-winning beer!
Make sure you get yourself down to the Bristol Beer Factory Tap Room, or one of their other pubs during the summer to sample a pint of their now much ‘greener’ beer.
