2000

Solarsense UK Limited formed

Richard Simon joins Solarsense UK Limited as Technical Director

Larger premises secured in Long Ashton, North Somerset

 

2005

Solarsense visit Uganda on first charity project

Solarsense install the UK’s first photovoltaic system under the Energy Saving Trust’s Grant Scheme

Solarsense install the UK’s first PV tracker system on an off-grid farm in Castle Cary, Somerset.

2008

First Government renewable energy incentive introduced

Solarsense visit Senegal on second charity project to install remote clinic lighting for 10 villages 

2010

Larger premises secured in Backwell, North Somerset

Solarsense install the UK’s largest privately owned PV system – Worthy Farm, Glastonbury

Solarsense visit India on third charity project to install solar PV system and lighting for Bishop Bexel Orphanage

2011

Solarsense win ‘Company of the Year’ at the British Renewable Energy Awards

Solarsense install the first zero-carbon school in Europe – Montgomery School, Exeter

Solarsense visit Ethiopia to install a solar powered vaccination fridge at Beso Medical Centre

2012

Solarsense acquire 5 acre site adjacent to offices creating the Solarsense Technology Park

North Somerset Bees swarm to Solarsense Technology Park as part of their wider biodiversity aim

Solarsense install the UK’s largest local authority rooftop PV system – North Acre Resource Recovery Centre

Solarsense awarded £59k grant for Zero Carbon Office & Training Centre

Solarsense win ‘Installer of the Year’ at the Regen South West Awards

2015

Solarsense celebrates 20 Years in operation and surpasses 10,000+ installations milestone

2018

Solarsense form strategic partnership with Giulio Barbieri to drive growth in UK solar carport sector

2019

Solarsense win Environmental Business of the Year at the Bristol Business Awards.

Solarsense install their first fully integrated solar slate installation for Pilton Methodist Church, in Somerset.

Solarsense complete their charity project for The Brightwell (West of England MS Therapy Charity).

2020

 Solarsense celebrates 25 years in operation.

Solarsense install their  first full Passivhaus eco home, comprised of a solar PV system, Tesla Powerwall and air source heat pump. 

Solarsense short-listed for Solar & Storage Project of the Year at the industries leading awards.

 

2021

Avon Fire & Rescue Service Project selected by Cabinet Office ahead of the COP26 United Nations Climate Change conference.

Solarsense named Industry Game Changer at the Regen Industry Awards.

2022

Solarsense win three industry awards including best UK clean energy project.

Solarsense named UK Renewable Energy Contractor of the Year for a third time in less than 5 years.

Solarsense move to larger office to support rapid business growth.

Solarsense partner with Rainforest Concern to protect rare rainforest habitat in the Tropical Andes.
